Anna at work

We’re back! (And one person stronger!)

Boy, oh boy has it been a crazy year! So crazy in fact, that I haven’t been here to tell you guys about it. Oops! Not only did I get to work with many wonderful new and repeat clients in 2014, but we also added a new member to the Rosy Events’ team last March! After only 8 weeks with us, she joined me at a spring conference in New Orleans (but spent most of her time in the hotel room). Shortly thereafter, she came along on a site visit to Nashville (where she mostly just cruised around town with my mother). I know she doesn’t sound like much of an asset now, but she’s growing and we couldn’t imagine life without her. Please allow me to officially introduce Anna Luisa: Now that Anna’s nearly one (seriously, where did this year go???), we’re coming out of survival mode and reentering the real world. My goal for 2015 is to revive this blog and add two posts a month. That sounds so feasible – especially since we have a lot of catching up to do. And yet, it’s the end of January and I’m just getting started. Be patient with me, please. I’m still running

Happy Holidays from Rosy Events

Happy New Year!

The holidays are my favorite time of year. They are also the time of year my desire for perfection kicks itself into over drive. So when I went searching for a holiday card to send on behalf of the business, I knew it had to be just right. I searched high and low (i.e. google once and google again) for a calendar card that didn’t look like it was coming out of 1995. Finally, I decided I just needed to have someone design a custom one. I could not be more thrilled with how it turned out. I hope it brings you as much cheer as it does me. Here’s to 2015!

Gift Basket for Mom to Be

Mom-to-be Gift Basket

The very talented Mr. Rosy managed to one up me on Sunday. I was celebrating my birthday. And by celebrating I mean attending a cake decorating class, meeting with clients, taking a long bath, and getting ready for an early dinner out… I am nine months pregnant after all. But when I came down for dinner he presented me with this incredibly thoughtful birthday present from our arriving-any-day-now daughter. I was so touched by his sweet, outside the box thinking I nearly cried. (Or maybe that was the raging hormones…) He included a short note in the card that said: Mom, Can’t wait to meet you! Thanks for taking good care of me in your womb. I got you some things you might need after I get out of here… Things my mom will need after I’m born: Wine – It’s been a long nine months. You deserve a glass (or two or three)! Candy – I know you like sugar. (Side note, I actually usually prefer salt over sugar every time, but this little bean has had me on a sugar hunt all day every day.) Advil – For when I cry. Emergen-C – I need you to stay

Creative bachelorette party gift idea

Bachelorette Party Gift Fun!

A super creative friend of mine is just starting the wedding whirlwind. You know, that period in life where it seems like you have anywhere from three to ten weddings to attend every year. She always comes up with the best gifts for her gal pals and this one’s no exception. I was so in love when I opened her text that I just had to share it with you. The wrapping pretty much takes the cake. Who knew you could make a simple gift bag so cute with a couple of bows and a cute pair “Mrs.” undies. She filled the bag with all of the usual naughty, gag gift items for a bachelorette. But that’s not all… She was also clever (and thoughtful) enough to get a nice travel bag and these Mr./Mrs. luggage tags. It’s a destination wedding, so there’s no doubt these will come in handy for the bachelorette. I mean, how many pairs of edible undies does one bride-to-be really need? FYI, these adorable luggage tags can be found here.

Nature inspired Christmas centerpiece

Nature Inspired Christmas Centerpiece and Glitter Dipped Pinecones

Mr. Rosy and I have a lot going on this holiday season. And for just that reason we decided that we wouldn’t be doing any traveling. It’ll be so much easier this way we thought. Then we decided to host Mr. Rosy’s mother and step-father for Christmas Eve. And his brother. And his aunt and uncle. And his cousin and her husband. And his cousin’s cousin and her boyfriend. And well, you get the picture. So we had a great big Christmas Eve dinner party for eleven. I promised Mr. Rosy I wouldn’t go overboard. Just a simple centerpiece with some fresh evergreens… Well, when he saw me hand painting each tip on a bunch of pinecones, he sheepishly inquired if I felt this was keeping things simple. But honestly, this table setting couldn’t have been easier. I wanted to go natural, using the cool log risers I had left from this 30th birthday party. Add some flameless candles (you don’t want to be babysitting dripping wax when you’re hosting a dinner party) and some evergreens and you’re set. For the most part… Because then it hit me, with this many people it’s a good idea to have place cards. I
