First Birthday Surprise Balloon Invitation

I’m SO excited to share this little project with you! I put it together for my daughter’s first birthday, but it’d be super fun for a baby shower (“Mom-to-be is going to POP!”) or a bridal shower/bachelorette (“He POPPED the question!”) As Anna’s first birthday approached, we went back and forth (and back and forth, and back and forth) on whether we’d do a really large party with most of our family and friends or just a small celebration with the grandparents. Ultimately, we decided that the first birthday is really a celebration of the fact that we all survived the first year and that we’d just go ahead and do it up. And naturally, as I’ve said a thousand times, it all starts with the invitations. The theme is rainbow. Just wait until you see the rest of the details!!

C&W Industrial’s 2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing

Charity events have a special place in my heart. I love the warm-fuzzies they create for everyone involved. Especially when you find just the right charity to fit your organization. Last September I had the chance to plan Cushman & Wakefield Industrial’s Second Annual Charity Golf Outing. Planning the first year was a blast, but after selecting Operation Finally Home as year two’s benefiting organization I knew we would blow the first year out of the water. Everyone had a great time AND we were able to raise $40,000 for Operation Finally Home! The day started with lunch and a bloody mary bar, continued into 18 holes of golf on Bolingbrook Golf Club’s beautiful greens, and concluded with cocktail hour, dinner and a silent auction. It was a wonderful day! I only wish I had captured more pictures of the fun. Camp Jack the Horse Vow Renewal

40th Anniversary Outdoor Vow Renewal

It was an honor to plan this fun vow renewal for two of my favorite clients (my dear mom and dad) on their 40th wedding anniversary. They requested that the details remain secret and asked that it be both fun and serious. That’s a tall order. I think we totally nailed it. Shower Host Gift and Free Printable!

Baby showers are a blast to throw! I love the excitement of a mom-to-be’s friends and family members as they plan to add a little one to their tribe. But I also know just how much work putting together a shower can be. Which is why when it was my turn to be the guest of honor, I made sure to have a little gift for the shower hosts. I wanted to make a “shower” themed gift, so I picked up a few shower gel/lotion sets from Bath & Body Works. (I selected scents that would transport them to a more tropical locale since it was February in the midwest.) I threw in a similarly scented candle and a couple tropical beverage kits. I finished it off with a “One great shower deserves another” thank you note and called it done. Click here to download and print this tag. This could easily work for a bridal shower too. It could even be taken up a notch with the addition of a spa or nail salon gift card and a pair of flip-flops. I think they turned out great – nearly as great as the wonderful shower they threw!

Anna at work

We’re back! (And one person stronger!)

Boy, oh boy has it been a crazy year! So crazy in fact, that I haven’t been here to tell you guys about it. Oops! Not only did I get to work with many wonderful new and repeat clients in 2014, but we also added a new member to the Rosy Events’ team last March! After only 8 weeks with us, she joined me at a spring conference in New Orleans (but spent most of her time in the hotel room). Shortly thereafter, she came along on a site visit to Nashville (where she mostly just cruised around town with my mother). I know she doesn’t sound like much of an asset now, but she’s growing and we couldn’t imagine life without her. Please allow me to officially introduce Anna Luisa: Now that Anna’s nearly one (seriously, where did this year go???), we’re coming out of survival mode and reentering the real world. My goal for 2015 is to revive this blog and add two posts a month. That sounds so feasible – especially since we have a lot of catching up to do. And yet, it’s the end of January and I’m just getting started. Be patient with me, please. I’m still running
